Local Departments Online One of the best fire/rescue pages on the Internet, period. This is surely a great resource for all fire personnel. Definitely check this one out if you haven't yet! This is a great page that has obviously developed over many years. It contains great links, pictures, and other interesting resources that help to make it a page that all should visit. Gainesville District Volunteer Fire Department A very well developed site of a 1/2 volly, 1/2 career station in Gainesville, VA. I personally admire the incredible apparatus, check it out! Fire and Rescue Resources Fire Fighting Dot Com is a site devoted to firefighting and all it's aspects. From online product sales, to upcoming events and important information, this site has it all. National Fallen Firefighters' Memorial http://www.usfa.fema.gov/ffmem/ An incredible site honoring all of the nation's firefighters in many ways. Conceived as a tribute to America's fire service, the National Fallen Firefighters' Memorial is one of this country's most beautiful monuments to courage and unselfish service. Constructed in 1981 on the campus of the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland, the Memorial was officially designated by Congress as the national Memorial to career and volunteer fallen firefighters in 1990. It is a symbol of honor for those who carry on the tradition of service to their communities. Visit this site to learn more and don't forget to check out the photos and the real audio clips. Though it currently has only one live Fire Dispatch channel, Police Scanner.Com is a good, well-known site. Check it out if you want to hear some great police/rescue dispatches. The Bravest is a great On-line dispatch site and is not only very user friendly, but also looks great! Misc./Kids' Sites Maybe one of the most well known public safety sites on the net, The Break Room is a great site for all resources, information, and just plain fun. Stay Alert, Stay Safe site, Canada’s leading streetproofing site for kids aged 7 to 10. Great site for kid’s fire safety developed by the Indianapolis Fire Department. Lots of interaction.
