MARK YOUR CALENDAR – 11TH ANNUAL BURKE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT GOLF TOURNAMENT Spring is almost here and the 11th annual Burke Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department golf tournament is right around the corner. Mark your calendar now to participate in the 11th Annual Burke Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department Golf Tournament, Monday, May 12th, 2008. Over the last 10 years, this event has raised more than $130,000 to support local fire & rescue services. Please join Congressman Tom Davis, our honorary Chairman, in helping to support the Burke Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department in their efforts to provide the highest level of fire & emergency services to the citizens of Fairfax County. This year’s tournament will again be hosted at the Springfield Golf & Country Club and will follow a 4 person “Captain’s Choice” format. Cost per player is $150 before April 27th and will be $175 per player after April 27th. The tournament will start promptly at 1pm. Registration will open at 11 am. Lunch, dinner and beverages on the course included. The tournament can only accommodate up to 32 teams and 128 players, so you need to register early. It is always a great occasion for many of us to get together for a terrific day of camaraderie, competition and local expressions of support to benefit the work of local fire and rescue workers. Most gratifying, is the fact that we raise crucial resources to benefit the work of the BVFRD in our community. This terrific result is made possible by strong corporate sponsorship support, along with other community and individual participation. Your support can and does make a huge difference and it will help assure our future success. In particular, if you have any suggestions regarding prizes, contributions, sponsors, or if you might be willing to help by donating a door prize or by assisting in getting sponsor commitments or obtain prizes please let us know by contacting our tournament committee. The tournament is already shaping up to be even bigger and better than last year. We fully expect this year’s tournament to sell out early again this year. Brochures were mailed out in mid February.
