First Fire Station
In the spring of 1948, the community raised enough money to build the first fire
station. This building later became the Burke Post Office, and later was
the Burke Lawn mower Shop. Burke became known as "Company 14,"
because it was the 14th volunteer fire company in Fairfax County.
